That's the name of my potential next book. Shitty Humans. And the most important thing I can say I DO STILL BELIEVE, is that for every shitty human, there are 3 - 5 amazing humans. After sixty years on this planet, I know that. I've experienced their kindness, generosity, love, help, compliments, unsolicitied assistance in times of trouble - you name it, most humans do it.
Maybe it's this lovely era where the leaderes of the US and Russia appears to be the shittiest humans on earth, but this last couple of years, I'm stumbling across a great many people who probably used to hide their shittiness. Maybe for a long time, we actually tried to appear better than we were and slowly the internet and social media chipped away at any sense of decency, restraint and humility and now we are at peak shitty behavior.
They say that wild animals who never attack each other will break that rule ONLY when they are facing death due to a lack of resources. When the water hole dries up, two normally cohabitating species might fight for what little they can get. With kindness in such great demand, we might be in the same situation. Maybe we, as humans, perceive some sort of false "shortage" of the very things that distinguish us from animals (list here), so we are fighting unnecessarily, scraping at each other with caustic comments, overreacting to every perceived slight, embracing the verbal equivalent of "kill or be killed."
Each chapter of this book will detail a particularly shitty human and given that the Myers Briggs personality test fairly accurately put us all into 16 categories, chances are you will recognize the existence of a similar person in your own world. In order to preserve my sanity and kindness, I will end each chapter with three people who are the exact opposite of the shitty human. I hope you recognize those wonderful people in your life as well.

The control freak
The fatally insecure
